Our frameless glass bath tub screens have a number of features designed to enhance the appearance of your bathroom and provide a more enjoyable showering experience, for years to come. (Click on thumbnails for more detail):

NEW! Now available with ClearShield for ease of cleaning
ClearShield is applied when the glass is made, creating a 'hydrophobic' coating on the surface. This causes the water to bead more readily making cleaning easier, especially if you have hard water. You can read more about ClearShield on the Ritec (the inventor of ClearShield) website. ClearShield is available for an additional charge of $100.

European 'swing door' design
- Opens into and out of the bathtub. All our screens are hinged at the wall allowing them to be opened into and out of the bathtub.
- Left or right hand mounting. Our shower screens can be mounted on either side of the tub so you don't need to specify this when ordering.
- Choice of round (6" radius) or square glass top corner

Diagram of Ark Showers bathtub screen with dimensions 33.5 inches wide
This is a good size for mounting over 5 foot tubs, preventing water from escaping above and at the side of the screen while providing reasonable access to the showering area.

Choice of three heights; 60, 64 and 70 inches
All three heights are tall enough to prevent water from going over the top. (The majority of sliding tub doors are around 58" high). The 70 inch high model can look dramatic if you have enough height between the tub ledge and the ceiling. If your ceiling is lower or you have a soffit above the tub, the 64" or 60" model may be the better choice. Please measure first before ordering.

5/16" (8mm) thick, 'crystal' clear (untinted) safety glass
Dime to show glass thickness - Luxurious feel whilst not being too heavy. Most of the bath tub doors (sliding or swinging) sold in the US are thinner than this and feel flimsy and cheap by comparison 1/4 inches (6mm) is common - ours are 33% thicker.
- Minimal visual impact. The frameless design and clear glass minimize the impact of the screen once installed in your bathroom. The effect is to make the bathroom feel larger than with shower curtains or opaque screens, giving a lift to smaller bathrooms in particular.
- Safety glass panel. Our frameless bath tub screens use thermally toughened safety glass which conforms to stringent US and EU standards, ANSI Z97.1, CPSC 16 CFR 1201, EN 12150, EN 12160 and BS6206A.

Semi-frameless and frameless ranges
- Semi-frameless - features a sleek continuous hinge made from high quality aluminum. This prevents water from escaping from between the glass and the wall.
- Frameless range - features two discrete hinges made from either precision forged solid brass or precision engineered 304 solid stainless steel (depending upon the finish selected).

The frameless shower screens are not as leak-proof as the semi-frameless models because a little water can escape between the wall and the edge of the glass. There is a wall sweep to minimize this leakage (in addition to the bottom sweep on both ranges) but the seal is not perfectly water tight. However, the discrete hinges make them look more minimalist than the semi-frameless screens. The frameless screens are nice solution if aesthetics are very important and you don't mind taking a little care when showering to minimize water leakage / mop up any leakage after.
